CHILLI EATING COntest

Before participating, all competitors must read and agree to the below waiver.

All entrants must be 18 years or older and have a valid form of ID.

You must not be under the influence of any substance and be in good physical and mental health.

If you are vegan, vegetarian, or have any allergies whatsoever, you must inform us when filling out the application form so we can tailor the competition in a fair and just way to each competitor.

You agree that any photos taken during the challenge can be used on THE BIG CHILL website and social media pages (win or lose).

THE BIG CHILL, ARMIDALE REGIONAL COUNCIL, its employees, sponsors, and affiliates will not be held liable for any injuries, death or destruction that may occur.

Rules:
• NO standing up or leaving your seat (including going to the bathroom).
• Whatever is placed in front of you must be consumed – there will be 4 items in the heat and 3 items in the Final Round.
• There are strict time limits for each round. Contestants will be provided the item, and the MC will start a 60 second timer where the contestants must thoroughly chew and swallow the entire item, excluding stems (if applicable), then raise their hand.
• A maximum 2-minute burn period will be given after each round. After the 2 minutes you must be ready to take on the next item.
• In a tie-break situation it will be the person who consumes the item and raises their hand first that will progress to the next round.
Disqualification will happen if you get knocked out, tap out, pass out, or worst of all…spew out! Vomiting will result in instant disqualification… and total shame.

I certify that I am over the age of 18 and that by participating in THE BIG CHILL, THE BIG CHILLI Chilli-Eating Contest I understand that I will be eating foods with varying degrees on the Scoville Scale up to 2 Million, containing seasonings & spices with an extreme degree of heat that include but are not limited to: Hot peppers & hot pepper extracts. I acknowledge that there could be a risk of abdominal and/or gastrointestinal discomfort, personal injury, illness & possible loss of life, which may result from participating in this challenge. I confirm that I do not have a medical condition that could jeopardise my health or wellbeing during or after the challenge, and in the case there is, THE BIG CHILL Festival operated by Armidale Regional Council, their successors, agents, sponsors and assigns shall not be held responsible or liable for any injuries, damage or loss of earnings caused during or after the challenge. I confirm that I have read the rules of the challenge it has been made clear to me that highly intense spicy foods have been known to cause undesired effects such as overall discomfort, abdominal or gastrointestinal discomfort, flushes, dizziness, extreme burning sensation, tearing, numbing, tingling and post digestive discomfort on a temporary and/or possible permanent basis.

I also agree that all final decisions regarding disqualification shall be subject to the sole and complete discretion of THE BIG CHILL and its employees.

I certify that the information provided is correct and by agreeing to competition wavier indicates my understanding and assumption of the risks and my voluntary participation in the challenge.
